THROTTLING ADJUSTING VALVE AND ITS BODY Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: manufacture of fittings; handling various media. SUBSTANCE: throttling adjusting valve has body with inlet and outlet branch pipes separated by partitions and provided with hole located perpendicularly relative to axes of branch pipes and cover mounted on body on side of hole. Mounted in said hole is seat having taper surface for engagement with spindle connected with shut-off member which is fitted in cover. Cover is connected with body by means of screw joint for pressing the seat to partition. Seat is provided with straight-way hole for throttling member which is made in form of cylindrical tail-piece connected with shut-off member and provided with fairing at the end. Taper surface of seat is engageable with straight-way hole whose diameter is equal to diameter of tail-piece. Surface of tail-piece is provided with diametrically opposite grooves. Fairing made in form of wedge is engageable with straight-way hole. Flat surfaces of wedge are located in plane perpendicular to plane of grooves. Body of valve has hole. Inlet and outlet branch pipes are mounted on both sides of said hole. Branch pipes are divided by partition provided with locating hole for seat. Surface of body on side of hole oriented coaxially relative to axis of shut-off member is stepped for mounting cover on body and securing it by means of screw joint. Locating hole of partition is stepped in form making seat rest against partition of body. Proposed valve ensures three-stage killing of energy of working medium kept at high pressure of 250-370 Mpa and temperature of about 280 C and smoothing of flow at outlet.
