FIELD: electrical engineering; overheat protection of electrical equipment under abnormal conditions. SUBSTANCE: thermoswitch has two current leads and heat-sensing member in the form of easy-melting conducting tube whose inner space is filled with activating material that does not conduct electric current, its melting point being lower than that of tube material. Thermoswitch may be provided with insulating shell made in the form of heat-resistant tube. Current leads may be made of single wire. Current leads are soldered into tube hollows at its opposite ends so that they hermetically seal the tube. Permissible outer diameters of heat-sensing member tube, permissible outer-to-inner diameter ratio of this tube and of current conductors, and permissible linear geometric dimensions are determined. Thermoswitch may be provided with current leads made of stranded conductor. EFFECT: enhanced reliability, enlarged functional capabilities. 4 cl, 7 dwg
