CHUCK FOR ROLLING METAL CAP, INCLUDING SCREW-TYPE CAP, ON VESSEL NECK Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: medicine and food industry; sealing of glass flasks. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to equipment for rolling on metal caps at sealing of glass containers with medicines and for roll and thread forming on metal caps of screw-type when sealing bottles with drinks. Proposed chuck contains rotary spindle 1 carrying conical follower 4 and housing 8 with radial slots installed for displacement along axis of spindle. Projecting support members pointed to each other are installed in side surfaces of each radial slot. Chuck is provided with support thrust journal 22 for pressing cap 20 to be rolled to neck of vessel 19, and set of holders 13. Each holder is made in form of common monolith link with radial slots and is provided with control roller 16 engaging with follower 4, and forming roller 14. Roller 14 engages with surface of cap 20 to be rolled on. Holders 13 are installed by means of radial slots on support members of housing 8 for simultaneously rocking around support members and displacing in radial direction relative to support members. Chuck is furnished with common ring flexible member 18 to constantly enclose and press holders 13 to axle of chuck. Flexible member 18 is mounted so that plane of its action is square to axis of chuck being located between conventional axes of holder rocking and axes of control rollers.
