FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method for preparing α-acetylene γ-diols used as an intermediate product in synthesis lacquer, glues, flotating reagents, corrosion inhibitors, fragrant and medicinal substances. Method involves interaction of acetylene compound with ketones of the general formula R-CO-R' where R, R' mean alkyl, aryl, alkoxyl, hydroxyalkyl, cycloalkyl, heterocycle in the presence of alkaline metal hydroxides, at stirring in solvent followed by removal of solvent, hydrolysis of prepared diol-alkaline complex and isolation of the end product. As acetylene compound acetylene or acetylene alcohol of the general formula α is used where R'', R''' mean hydrogen atom, alkyl, aryl, alkoxyl, cycloalkyl, heterocycle and liquid ammonia is used as solvent. Interaction is carried out in the molar ratio ammonia : acetylene compound = (6-50) : : 1, molar ratio alkaline metal hydroxide : acetylene compound γ 1, at temperature (-15)-(+45) C and in the presence of aliphatic alcohols taken in the amount no exceeding 300 molar % with respect to alkaline metal hydroxide. Isolation of the end product is carried out by extraction and distillation of extractant and low-boiling impurities. As a rule, molar ratio ketone : acetylene = 2:1 and molar ratio ketone : acetylene alcohol = 1:1. Method ensures to improve indices of intensity and selectivity of process.
