FIELD: medicine, thoracic surgery. SUBSTANCE: cutaneous incision is made being parallel to medial scapular edge by leaving 2-3 cm to prolong it for 5-6 cm lower against inferior scapular angle. After complete opening the rib by removing periosteum it should be crossed at 5 cm against a caput. One should carry out gradual subperiosteal removal of superior four ribs with posterior departments of 5-9 ribs at the distance of 5 cm. Fragmentation of anterior-lateral departments of 5-9 ribs is carried out as the second stage in 2-3 wk due to separate incisions along the edge of great thoracic and broadest muscle of back along with subperiosteal removal of every rib in every incision up to 5 cm. The method enables to decrease traumaticity and blood loss. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 1 ex
