FIELD: medicine, in particular, physiotherapy. SUBSTANCE: method involves placing patient in bath filled with liquid medium; providing local temperature action upon individual regions of patient's body and changing liquid pressure during procedure; creating temperature difference between patient accommodation part and other parts of bath. Method allows metabolic balance to be corrected. Apparatus has water feeding pipelines and bath with water heating and pressure regulating members fixed inside bath. Bath is divided by partitions into hermetically sealed sections, each equipped with members for accommodation of patient's body parts. Water heating and pressure regulating members are positioned in each section. Members for producing local temperature effects are positioned in bath. EFFECT: increased efficiency in correcting metabolic balance in organs and tissues, simplified construction and enhanced reliability in operation. 7 cl, 4 dwg, 1 ex
