FIELD: transport engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to traction motors of vehicles furnished with storage batteries. Proposed inertial motor contains flywheel housing mechanically coupled with vehicle transmission. Storage battery is installed in housing. Storage battery is connected with electric motor designed for rotating flywheel housing. Design peculiarity of proposed invention is that electric motor is connected with flywheel housing by kinematic chain transmitting motion by means of friction forces in bearing. Power rating of electric motor is chosen to overcome friction forces in said bearing. Parameters of said bearing, such as type, dimensions, parts materials, provision of lubricant, etc are chosen to provide optimum resistance to its rotation.
