FIELD: underground construction; applicable in rotor tunneling shields for control of rotor rotation. SUBSTANCE: drive of tunneling shield rotor has hydraulic motors, rotor speed control unit provided with hydraulic pump connected via distributor to hydraulic motors connected with tunneling shield rotor shaft, working fluid tank, pressure and discharge pipelines. Rotor speed control unit has multiplying unit having distributor, two hydraulic machines whose shafts are rigidly interconnected, and two check valves. Distributor inlet of multiplying unit is communicated via pressure pipeline with hydraulic pump. One outlet of distributor is connected via check valve with distributor of rotor speed control unit, and other outlet of multiplying unit is connected with hydraulic machine. The second check valve is connected with other hydraulic machine. Discharge pipelines of hydraulic machines are connected through discharge pipeline to tank with working fluid. EFFECT: higher efficiency and reliability of control of tunneling shield rotor and extended range of rotor speed control. 2 dwg
