FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for dynamic balancing of short rotors secured by one end. According to proposed method, correcting mass is applied to rotor surface in plane passing through center of masses, rotor is secured on axle cantilever relative to axle support and is set into rotation changing adjusting mass to compensate unbalance to minimum value and by value of changeable correcting mass, correcting masses for side planes of correction proportional to distances of each plane of correction to center of masses are determined and each mass thus found is applied to corresponding plane to completely eliminate unbalance by changing correcting mass in plane of correction nearest to axle supports. Device for dynamic balancing of rotor contains rotating shaft, its supports, platform installed on leaf springs and having one degree of freedom in plane square to shaft axis, and linear displacement detector. Shaft support is rigidly secured on platform which is connected with linear displacement detector. Shaft is installed so that rotor to be balanced can be connected to one of shaft ends. EFFECT: simplified process of balancing and design of device owing to dispensing with operations involving separate balancing of rotor in two of correction. 2 cl, 3 dwg
