FIELD: apparatus for treatment of liquid media by energy of acoustic field of ultrasonic cavitation cavitation disintegration of any substances. SUBSTANCE: cavitation reactor may be used for treatment of liquid media, such as suspensions, emulsions and colloidal solutions, as well as water and other liquids. Cavitation treatment of liquid media enhances dispersity, homogeneity and intensification of chemical reactions, synthesis of new compounds, bacteriolysis and bacteriostasis, as well as chemical activity, for example hydration activity of water. Cavitation reactor may be also used for extraction of soluble agents from solid suspensions. Proposed reactor may be used in chemical, mining, food processing, pharmaceutical and perfumery industries. Reactor is made in form of chamber whose interior is bounded housing, reflecting wall and ultrasound radiator and is filled with medium to be treated. Minimum inner size of housing measured from beginning of normal to boundary of any front of ultrasonic wave in chamber is equal to minimum positive root of transcendental equation.
