FIELD: development of high-refractory materials, particularly, technology of production of multiplecomponent coatings for multilevel protection of linings of structures, separate devices and members of metallurgical furnaces, chemical reactors, etc. SUBSTANCE: article erosion and heat protection is provided by application to its surface of coating containing three multiple-component layers. Each layer is formed on base of materials capable of initiation and conduction of self-propagating high-temperature synthesis process. Introduced into each said layer are modifying additives from oxide, refractory oxide materials and/or nonoxygenous compounds. Each layer is applied by several passes. Impregnation of the first layer is performed by many times with help of high-pressure air- spraying devices and/or at high excessive pressure. After drying of multilayer coating, it is subjected to low-temperature roasting, and at attaining the coating temperature less by 20-30 C than temperature of initiation of self-propagating high-temperature synthesis process, protective medium is introduced. Offered coatings materially increase service life of refractory materials, and performance and thermal property characteristics of heat units under conditions of effect of chemically active and erosion-aggressive media.
