METHOD FOR SUBTOTAL PROXIMAL RESECTION OF STOMACH Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: medicine, surgery. SUBSTANCE: the present innovation deals with treating gastric cancer. Out of greater curvature of stomach one should cut mucous-submucous tube. Four sutureligaments are applied to fix esophageal stump to edges of esophageal diaphragmatic opening. Walls of gastric stump are sutured leaving about 2-3 cm against the edge of serous-muscular layer around the tube. Anastomosis is developed between the tube and submucous esophageal layer. Anastomosis and tube should be invaginated into gastric stump's lumen. Then one should tighten up preapplied sutures-ligaments. Moreover, one should develop the valve out of gastric stump's walls. The suggested method enables to provide areflux nature of esophageal-gastric anastomosis. EFFECT: higher efficiency of resection. 11 dwg, 1 ex
