METHOD FOR INCREASING EFFICIENCY OF HYPERBARIC OXYGENATION (HBO) Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: medicine, hyperbaric physiology. SUBSTANCE: before every seance of hyperbaric oxygenation one should carry out hyperthermia of distal departments of affected limb, moreover, HBO-therapy seance should be conducted once daily at the pressure of 0.6-1.0 atm and exposure of 40 min at isopressure, therapy course consists of 10 seances; as medium to increase temperature in limb's peripheral departments one should apply water supplemented with antibacterial substances and mineral additives; hyperbaric oxygenation should be performed along with conservative therapy and physiotherapeutic procedures. The suggested innovation favors to improve functional state in patients with ischemic limbs, improve oxygen microcirculation and its transportation to limb's tissues, restricts the development of trophic, dystrophic and sclerotic processes in limbs' distal departments, activates trophic and regeneratory processes in muscles, skin and bones.
