FIELD: investigation and analysis of ground. SUBSTANCE: carbon cloth comprising iodine is arranged between two layers of pure carbon tissues in drop ampoule, which is loosely put onto upper end of central vertical pipe. Lower end of pipe is inserted through sealing plug into retort filled with cryogenic liquid and cooled by liquid nitrogen. Inner surface of retort is covered with frozen-on alcohol layer. Central pipe in conjunction with drop ampoule is enclosed in outer pipe, whose upper end is connected to gaseous oxygen supplying system. Restricting grid is positioned inside central pipe. Electrodes of carbon tissue ignition system are inserted through sealing plug into space between central pipe and ampoule. Apparatus allows carbon tissue to be gasified by providing frontal self-ignition in oxygen atmosphere, accompanied with complete decomposition of any of organic compounds available on carbon tissue. Transfer of iodine into cryogenic liquid including part of iodine fixed in central pipe together with carbon tissue combustion products provides for increased efficiency in retaining of iodine in solution remained after evaporation of cryogenic liquid. Apparatus allows effective (at least 99%) quantity of iodine previously separated from large amounts of ground and fixed on carbon tissue to be transferred into required volume.
