FIELD: thermal units for conversion of thermal energy; ovens for convective and forced preheating of air. SUBSTANCE: proposed thermal convector has housing with exhaust pipe and furnace for radiation heat exchange, adjustable wind box, afterburner chamber with radiation heat exchange surface, flue duct including furnace and after-burner chamber and air ducts of furnace and afterburner chamber whose inlets and outlets are communicated with surrounding medium. Flue duct has parting surface between its gas and air media flowing through gas and air passages. Thermal convector has fire grate, ash pan, convective section of flue gas heat exchange formed by gas passages whose outlets are communicated with exhaust pipe and inlets are communicated with outlet of after-burner chamber. Additional adjustable wind box is mounted in lower portion of after-burner chamber. Surface of radiation heat exchange of furnace arch is bulbous in cross section. After-burner chamber is extended vertically; gas inlet located in its upper portion is communicated with said inlet of convective section. Ratio of total cross section area of convective heat exchange section to cross section area of furnace is 1:2; air space above furnace is communicated with air passage of convective section.
