FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used at continuous casting of metals by "melt-on melt" method. Method includes delivery of metal stream from casting ladle into intermediate ladle divided by partitions into central and extreme zones. Zones communicate through holes in partitions. metal from extreme zones passes through pouring nozzles without interruption of stream to level into crystallizers. Place of delivery of stream into central zone of intermediate ladle is changed in turn after casting of each melt. Stream is displaced from cross axis of ladle by 2-3 diameters, thus reducing washing out of lining of ladle bottom. Metal layer in intermediate ladle is maintained not higher than upper edge of partitions and not lower than upper holes in partitions. This prevents overflow of oxide-saturated metal and slag from central zone into extreme zones and oxide contamination of metal in extreme zones. Invention increases number of melts through one intermediate ladle. EFFECT: increased casting yield and quality of metal. 2 cl, 1 tbl
