FIELD: technological processes in machine engineering, processes for working by disc tools. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of cutting in milling cutter by desired depth of groove and then imparting rotation to blank; using disc milling cutter slit along radius at forming ends; opening formed ends in plane passing through rotation axis of blank and of disc milling cutter in accordance with blank rotation; determining pitch P of helical cutting surface formed at opening ends of disc milling cutter according to given formula. EFFECT: enlarged manufacturing possibilities, improved quality and increased efficiency of method. 3 dwg
