FIELD: transport engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electric drives of rail vehicles. Step electric motor is used as traction electric motor which accumulates kinetic energy. System of drive includes also reversible hydrostatic transmission and intermediate reduction gear. Controller furnished with microprocessor in combination with electric motor provides highly effective regeneration of energy at vehicle braking and increased efficiency of electric drive as a whole, as larger part of kinetic energy at vehicle braking is accumulated by rotor of step electric motor. Each driving bogie of cars is equipment with such electrohydraulic drive of wheels and hydraulic drive of brake. EFFECT: reduced energy consumption and improved efficiency of rail vehicle as a whole, as compared with existing electric drives. 2 dwg
