FIELD: antenna engineering. SUBSTANCE: novelty in proposed antenna which can be used as self-contained device or as part of antenna array and is designed for low frequency consists in that it is provided with newly introduced dielectric rod with cone-shaped matching and radiating ends and waveguide section attached to contour of hole on side opposite to helix; dielectric rod is mounted inside insulating former and its matching end is inserted in waveguide coaxially to helix for displacement to form dielectric antenna together with waveguide which is designed for operation at high frequency. Proposed helical antenna can be developed for low (fl)-to-high (fu) frequency ratio equal to or lower than, that if, fl/fu≤1/2. As to applicability of dielectric rod antennas, fu≥2000 MHz which makes it possible to use proposed helical antenna in developing nonlinear radars.
