FIELD: food-processing industry, in particular, canned food industry. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has vessel and round cover for limiting volume and for compressing products. Round cover has upper and lower members axially aligned and connected with one another. Stepped movable lobes are located between upper and lower members. Projections on lobe lower surface are adapted for engagement with guides on lower surface of round cover. Round cover members have diameter not in the excess of minimal diameter of vessel and are joined by threaded connection, or cone-shaped fastening members, or clamping screw. Vessels of different diameters may be used for canning by means of said apparatus. EFFECT: simplified construction and convenient use by providing constant pressure applied to product. 8 cl, 5 dwg
