FIELD: waste water treatment. SUBSTANCE: method, in particular, concerns neutralizing effluents from organochlorine synthesis installations and those for combustion of organochlorine waste containing 0.7-36.0% hydrochloric acid. Neutralization is carried out in two steps: first with naturally occurring limestone to residual HCl concentration 0.05-1,0% and then with alkali reagent to pH 6.5- 8,0, process being conducted at reduced pressure involving additional cleaning of reaction gases to remove HCl. Finally neutralized solution is separated from precipitate.
