FIELD: earth moving machinery. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of automation of control of digging process of single- bucket excavators, especially shovels with separate lifting and crowd drives. Invention is aimed at increasing efficiency of digging by changing current value of lifting force simultaneously with changing of speed to make stabilization force at all preset values of speed equal to force in cutoff point. For this purpose lifting drive stabilization force at digging is set and sum of lifting force value and force derivative are measured. then mismatch between said sum and value of preset lifting drive stabilization force is found. If mismatch is revealed, stop force of crowd drive is decreased. Current value of lifting drive speed is measured additionally. mismatch between maximum lifting speed in point of stabilization and current value of speed is found. Current value of stabilization force is changed simultaneously with changing lifting drive speed. Value of stabilization force is formed as sum of value of stabilization force at maximum speed in point of stabilization and value of force proportional to mismatch between maximum value of speed and its current value.
