FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: one should carry out incision if conjunctiva and Tenon's membrane. Diathermocoagulation is carried out. Scleral incision is performed up to suprachorioidal space to insert filling material there by applying biologically inert one based upon substances of either natural or synthetic origin or their mixtures. In case of fresh subtotal, old and proliferative vitreoretinopathy-complicated retinal detachments it is necessary to inject nonresolving material for constant period of time. In case of flat or local detachments one should inject material to be resolved during preset period of time. In case of fresh high and local detachments one should introduce material to be removed not earlier than 3 mo later, moreover, this material additionally contains medicinal substances. The present method enables to block retinal ruptures, decrease vitreoretinal tractions that favors better retinal adjoining and improved acuity. EFFECT: higher efficiency of therapy. 4 cl, 3 ex
