FIELD: transport engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in automatic antilocking systems designed for use in brake systems of cross-country vehicles. Method to prevent locking of cross-country vehicle wheels at braking comes to be following: initial pressure rise at braking is provided to threshold level which is formed in process of running without application of brakes depending on valve of maximum linear acceleration of cross-country vehicle. At improved wheel-road adhesion in phase of pressure maintaining at constant level in process of braking, further pressure rise takes place at moment when linear acceleration in said phase reaches maximum value, and new threshold pressure level is formed according to said maximum value of linear acceleration of cross-country vehicle. At changing of wheel-road adhesion for the worse in phase of maintaining pressure at constant level, pressure drop takes place at moment when linear deceleration reaches lower threshold level, and pressure is reduced to minimum threshold level at which adhesion weight under ice-coated road conditions is fully utilized. Reduction of pressure in brake system is provided at rate preventing locking of wheels at changing from "dry asphalt " to "ice" section. EFFECT: improved efficiency of braking, reliability of automatic antilocking system and reduction of its cost. 3 dwg
