FIELD: metallurgy of light metals. SUBSTANCE: invention specifically refers to design of bipolar electrode of electrolyzer producing magnesium and chlorine. Proposed electrode includes anode part made of graphite and cathode part fabricated from iron-carrying material coming in the form of steel sheet, intermediate layer of copper being placed between them. Metal bar is inserted on side of cathode part to improve contact in electrode, to decrease current leakage, to simplify manufacture and anchoring of cathode part. Steel sheet is fixed in bar by bolts. EFFECT: improved functional efficiency of bipolar electrode. 1 dwg
