METHOD AND DEVICE FOR APPLYING MAGNETOTHERAPY Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: medicine; medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: device has power supply source, two electrodes connected thereto via controllable rectifier settable near temples and solenoid settable above the head with magnetic flux power lines being arranged in parallel to vertical axis of the head. The device also has control unit connected to the rectifier to enable one to change electrodes polarity, feeding voltage polarity on solenoid and to control action time for each polarity. The controllable rectifier independently supplies voltage to the solenoid and electrodes. The device has members for fastening the solenoid and electrodes. Method involves exposing patient head to magnetic solenoid field action under field intensity being equal to 150-30 E with magnetic flux power lines being arranged in parallel to vertical axis of the head and concurrently treating with electromagnetic field emitted by two electrodes manufactured from magnetically soft material of 90-100 mm diameter placed in the immediate proximity to patient temples with magnetic field flow intensity being equal to 15-30 mTesla units. Electrodes polarity and voltage feeding the solenoid vary during procedure. The total treatment time is equal to 10-15 min. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of treatment. 7 cl, 1 dwg
