FIELD: production of abrasive micropowders at size of crystals from 0.2 to 2 mcm on base of aluminum and ferric oxides for polishing and finishing surfaces of high-precision metal, glass or stone articles. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes stage of preparation of charge from aluminum hydroxides and ferric compounds followed by mechano-chemical treatment and calcination of charge. Aluminum hydroxide is subjected to preliminar heat treatment at temperature of 100- 250 C; additives of carboxylic or dicarboxylic acids are introduced in charge in the amount of 0.1-5.0 mass-% before mechano-chemical activation; stearic or benzoic acid is used as carboxylic acids and oxalic, succinic or phthalic acid is used as dicarboxylic acid.
