METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REPROCESSING OF SOLID RAW HYDROCARBON MATERIAL Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

Abstract RU 2212430 C1

FIELD: reprocessing and utilization of raw hydrocarbon materials. SUBSTANCE: method involves providing thermal decomposing of solid raw hydrocarbon material by feeding it into hermetically sealed pyrolysis chamber; heating while maintaining thermal decomposition temperature by circulating gas withdrawn from chamber and heated to predetermined temperature through closed circuit until completion of process; separating gas from liquid valor, when temperature in pyrolysis chamber reaches value, at which release of pyrolysis liquid light fraction vapor is initiated; cooling solid remains by circulating gas withdrawn from said chamber and cooled to predetermined temperature through closed circuit. Apparatus has hermetically sealed pyrolysis chamber equipped with gas withdrawal and gas supplying channels, channel for discharging said gas into atmosphere, gas heating device equipped with fan, heat generator and heat-exchanger, said components being connected in series, gas cooling device including heat- exchanger provided with fan and connected to initial heating chamber for heating of hydrocarbon raw material to be utilized, separator with pyrolysis collecting vessel, and compressor. Said components of apparatus are equipped with adjustable valves to define closed circuit system. Circuit for preliminary heating of gas in chamber has channel adapted for withdrawing gas from chamber and communicated via valve to compressor inlet end, heat-exchanger, whose inlet end is communicated via valve with compressor outlet and outlet end is communicated with channel for supplying gas to chamber. Pyrolysis process circuit has channel adapted for withdrawing gas from chamber and communicated via valve with heat-exchanger inlet end, separator equipped with vessel and communicated with its outlet end to compressor inlet through valve, heat-exchanger, whose inlet end is communicated via valve to compressor inlet and outlet end is communicated with channel for supplying gas into chamber. Method and apparatus may be used for pyrolysis of, for example, tires, both ground and non-ground. EFFECT: increased economy by reduced power consumption, increased yield of pyrolysis liquid and reduced reprocessing time. 6 cl, 1 dwg
