FIELD: measurement technology, specifically, determination of stresses on surfaces of parts of machines. SUBSTANCE: two transmitters controlling cyclic deformations distinguished by sensitivity to stress amplitude are anchored on examined point of part in direction of gradient of change of stresses. Service tests of part are conducted till response emerges in more sensitive transmitter, its boundaries are registered along length of transmitter and these boundaries are transferred to less sensitive transmitter. Less sensitive transmitter is removed and put on calibrated specimen coming in the form of uniform resistance beam that is subjected to cyclic deformation under known stress amplitude. Dependence of number of loading cycles on position of boundaries on transmitter is established in process of deformation of calibrated specimen. Number of deformation cycles of calibrated specimen at which coordinates of reaction boundaries on less sensitive transmitter match coordinates of reaction boundaries on more sensitive transmitter is determined. These data are used to find equivalent stress and equivalent number of loading cycles of part and to construct stress-strain diagram over entire length of transmitter. EFFECT: increased productivity of measurements. 2 dwg, 1 tbl
