FIELD: changeable-battery telephone sets. SUBSTANCE: portable telephone set has external case with opposing top and bottom walls; one of walls has aperture to give access to case interior and cover mounted in aperture for extracting battery from aperture closed in standard way. Main printed-circuit board is installed in external case and carries plurality of telephone set components. Predetermined area of board integrated with aperture remains open or free from components and forms recess to receive battery. Battery recess has contact pads and battery is engaged for extraction in recess; battery contacts are brought in mesh with contact pads in recess so that battery can be extracted and replaced by new one through aperture upon opening the cover. Proposed design provides for eliminating extra thickness of recess forming wall and that of two battery-shell forming walls. EFFECT: minimized thickness of telephone set. 11 cl, 7 dwg
