FIELD: lubricants. SUBSTANCE: process lubricant used, in particular, in metal forming processes is prepared from sunflower oil, which is distilled at 230-260 C and residual pressure 1.5-8.0 kPa and then hydrolyzed according to acid number 60 to 150 mg KOH/g. Advantageously, starting oil contains 0.5 to 4.0% of free fatty oils and hydrolysis is effected with 10-20% aqueous alkali solution at 60-80 C. EFFECT: increased stability of water emulsions of lubricant, improved its antifriction property, and reduced pollution of deformed metal surface. 4 cl, 2 tbl, 6 ex
