FIELD: civil engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention refers to processes of sectional erection of masonry and structures of building blocks for buildings and edifices. Invention makes it possible to lay masonry of vertical, inclined, dome-shaped or pyramidal type without mortar. Process of masonry laying includes erection of masonry from cruciform building blocks of polygonal form with side protrusions and recesses. Cruciform blocks are so interjoined without mortar that they geometrically close surfaces of side edges of protrusions of one block with surfaces of edges of recesses of another block to form clearance-free joint of blocks in lock. Axes of convergence centers of recesses of joined blocks are mated by pairs to form common axis of center of laying per each pair, blocks are laid relative to axis of center of laying along one of directions of their mating, blocks are joined consistently to build up section in process of laying of cruciform blocks. Holes are made in building block of polygonal form with side protrusions and recesses to realize process of masonry laying in crossings of side edges, in centers of convergence of recesses and protrusions so that at least one through hole is located along axis of centers of convergence of recesses and protrusions that connects opposite centers of convergence of recesses and protrusions.
