FIELD: mechanical engineering; piston engines. SUBSTANCE: two-wedge-shaped compression rings are fitted in upper piston groove. Lower end face of upper compression ring and upper end face of lower compression ring are made at angle to cylinder axis, and upper end face of upper compression ring is made at acute angle to its lower end face, lower end face of lower compression ring is made at acute angle to upper end face. Upper compression ring is pointed with its larger vertical side to cylinder axis, and lower compression ring is pointed with its larger vertical side to cylinder wall. Holes are made in piston crown to place bottom space of piston groove in communication with above-piston space of cylinder. EFFECT: increased effective power and service life of engine, improved ecological characteristics. 1 dwg
