FIELD: direct operative determination of type of fluid filler of porous space of rock ( water, oil, gas or their mixtures ). SUBSTANCE: acoustic logging of wells is conducted, velocities of propagation and decaying of acoustic waves are measured. Rock formations are subjected to action of constant electric field. Acoustic logging of well is carried out simultaneously with application of constant electric field to rock formations. System of recording transmitters of sonde is positioned in zone of rock contacting electrode of negative electric polarity. Types of formation fluids and positions of boundaries separating them are established by character and value of decaying and change of velocity of propagation of elastic waves determined on basis of sonde measurements.
