FIELD: geophysical studies of boreholes, prediction of porosity and composition of fluid filling pores in section. SUBSTANCE: acoustic method lies in radiation and reception in borehole by two as minimum receivers spaced equidistantly of signals of longitudinal, lateral and pipe surface waves with subsequent determination of porosity and composition of fluid filling pores of collectors by values of damping of waves. Frequency spectrum of received signal is chosen so that condition δR2 / λ2 ≅ 1 is realized, where δ is damping decrement, R2 is distance from source to most distant receiver; λ2 is visible length of wave in this receiver. Porosity is found by relation Kp = ηpδs, where δs is damping decrement of lateral waves; ηp is proportionality factor. Composition of fluid filling pores is determined by ratio of damping decrements of longitudinal and lateral waves δp / δs. EFFECT: enhanced authenticity of method.
