FIELD: transport engineering; vehicle controls. SUBSTANCE: proposed parking brake system contains receiver connected through brake valve and relay valve to pneumatic spring energy accumulators. Pressure limiting valve is installed at receiver inlet. Novelty is that return spring is hinge- connected through tie-rod to lower part of parking brake lever. From other side, parking brake-lever is hinge-coupled through tie-rod with brake valve handle. Rocker is installed on parking brake lever for turning in vertical plane and engaging with armature of electromagnetic coil connected to vehicle circuit through normally open contact of electromagnetic relay. Moreover, first and second circuits are connected to vehicle circuit in parallel with electromagnetic coil and electromagnetic relay: first circuit includes series-connected normally-open fixed contact of driver presence detector and time relay; second circuit includes series-connected normally closed fixed contact of driver presence detector, normally-open contact of limit switch, and electromagnetic relay. Normally-open contact of time relay interlocks series-connected normally-open contact of limit switch and normally-closed fixed contact of driver presence detector.
