FIELD: oil and gas recovery; applicable in fuel lifting out of wells with use of gas energy. SUBSTANCE: flying valve has tubular body, separable member in form of body of revolution and limiters of its entrance into body. In this case, separable member or tubular body, or both are made of oil-resistant flexible material. Method of well operation includes periodic lowering of flying valve to under fluid level in well to lower shock absorber, and its subsequent lifting together with fluid column found above flying valve. Lowering of valve body and separable member is carried out separately. In this case, first, separable member of flying valve is lowered, and, then, its body is lowered, or vice versa. EFFECT: reduced impact loads in large diameter wells. 25 cl, 11 dwg
