FIELD: metalloorganic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention describes method for preparing zinc meso-tetraphenyltetraporphine that is a dye and generating agent of singlet oxygen. Method for preparing zinc meso-tetraphenyltetraporphine involves condensation of 1,3- diiminoisoindoline with phenylacetic acid in the presence of zinc hydroxide at heating in the range of temperature 270-280 C.
