FIELD: automotive electrical equipment; generator voltage regulation. SUBSTANCE: voltage regulator has power transistor switch 1 inserted between first and second power buses 2 and 5, respectively; double-input measuring element 4 connected between first and second power buses 2 and 5; transistor change-over assembly 6 whose output is coupled with input of power transistor switch 1, common lead, with first power bus 2, and power lead, with second power bus 5; backward dropping diode 7 coupling output lead 3 of device with third power bus 8; capacitor 9 inserted between first power bus 2 and input of transistor change-over assembly 6; first and second series-connected controllable current supplies 10 and 11, respectively, connected through one extreme lead to first power bus 2, through other extreme lead, to second power bus 5, through common point of first and second controllable current supplies 10 and 11, to lead of capacitor 9, the latter being connected to input of transistor change-over assembly 6. Inputs of first and second current supplies 10 and 11 are connected to first and second outputs of measuring element 4, respectively. Voltage regulator incorporates provision for controlling its switching-over rate. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of and reduced error in output voltage regulation of motor car or tractor. 1 cl, 7 dwg
