FIELD: biotechnology. SUBSTANCE: method involves placing worms and toxicants in breeding apparatus made in the form of square vessel divided by water-tight partitions into sections filled with sand, with one section being central; preparing from toxicants solutions of different concentrations and pouring said solutions into all sections except for central one; introducing worms into central section; considering concentrations favorable or unfavorable depending upon number of species inhabiting sections under test. EFFECT: reduced time for determining safe concentrations of toxic substances and increased efficiency. 2 tbl
