APPARATUS FOR SURFACING PARTS WITH WORN CYLINDRICAL SURFACE Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: welding processes and apparatuses, possibly restoration of cylindrical parts. SUBSTANCE: welding head includes cartridge with electrode wire and mechanism for feeding wire. Lengthwise motion unit is connected with welding head and with bin for supplying flux. Power source is connected with electrode wire and with part for exciting electric arc at surfacing. Bin is provided with tube for feeding powder additive material with ferromagnetic properties and it is mounted by means of chute with slit for wire on outlet end of tube with possibility of rotation for metering, squeezing and smoothing powder additive material stuck onto wire. Horizontal tie rod is designed for coaxially mounting part. Additional support is in the form of sliding bearing made of graphite in order to connect power source with part. Bin for supplying powder additive material is joined with unit for lengthwise motion. One end of horizontal tie rod is joined with shaft of part rotation drive unit; second end of tie rod is mounted in additional support.
