CAR CLASSIFICATION METHOD Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: railway transport. SUBSTANCE: method comes to placing rail track with car in inclined position, thus providing free rolling of car onto shunting tracks. Provision is made for determination of car mass and resistance to its running, and with due account of obtained magnitudes, potential energy is imparted to car equal to work of car on rout. Prior to mounting rail track, cars are accumulated. Moment of mounting is chosen with account of mass and resistance. Invention decreases power and material consumption at car shunting, increases rate of braking up of trains and decreases harmful effluents into atmosphere when at shunting.
