MAGNETIC CLUTCH Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

Abstract RU 2216662 C1

FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to magnetic clutches designed for connection of shafts and it can be used as reduction gear in different branches of industry. Proposed clutch contains first rotor consisting of two disks rigidly connected with corresponding semi shafts and with each other means of shell made of nonmagnetic material and first shaft and second rotor in form of disk made of nonmagnetic material with fitted-on permanent magnets installed over circumference with magnetization along axis of clutch and forming multiple-pole magnetic system with alternating polarity of poles. Disk of second rotor is located between disks of first rotor being magnetically coupled with said disks and it is rigidly connected with second shaft installed on bearings inside first shaft. Novelty is that clutch contains stator consisting of two disks made of magnetically-soft material arranged at equal distance from disk of second rotor and connected to each other by shell, thus forming clutch housing. Permanent magnets with magnetization along axis of clutch are secured to inner side surfaces of stator disks over circumference, said magnets form two separate multiple-pole magnetic systems with alternating polarity of poles and pole pitch of t1. Permanent magnets of second rotor are arranged at pitch of t2. Number of pole pitches t2 differ from number of pole pitches t1 by whole number. Disks of first rotor consists, each, of outer and inner rings made of nonmagnetic dielectric material and grid is mounted between disks formed by strips of magnetically-soft material. Invention provides possibility of reduction of speed of rotation at transfer of rotation between shafts and possibility of control of ratio. EFFECT: increased load capacity. 3 cl, 7 dwg
