FIELD: analytical chemistry; hydrogen detection in metal. SUBSTANCE: method includes sample heating involving hydrogen escape and evaluation of its amount. Sample is heated in oxygen environment. Escaping hydrogen is subjected to afterburning to water and its amount is measured by means of coulometric transducer. Heating is conducted at 400-800 C.
