FIELD: communications engineering; data transmission systems. SUBSTANCE: dynamic multiplexing of signals by plurality of carrier frequencies in communication system with signal transferred in wide spectrum is effected by coding data and separating coded characters obtained for transmitting them at different frequencies. Transmitter has control processor for estimating throughput capacity of each of plurality of channels and selecting data transmission speed for each channel depending on estimated throughput capacity. Plurality of transmission subsystems are controlled by signals arriving from control processor. Each transmission subsystem is linked with respective channel out of plurality of channels for encoding coded data by codes unique for particular channel to transmit data over this channel. Adjustable demultiplexer controlled by mentioned processor functions to demultiplex coded data in plurality of transmission subsystems at demultiplexing speed obtained from data transmission speeds chosen for this channel by controller. In one alternative of transmission subsystems coded characters are transferred to character repetition unit which saves fixed transmission speed of data characters to be conveyed. In other alternative characters are not repeated and different-length Walsh sequences are used for processing changes in data transmission speed. EFFECT: maximized throughput capacity of system and enhanced signal separation. 15 cl, 4 dwg
