FIELD: drinking and technical water softening. SUBSTANCE: invention presents a method of water treatments, that may be used for softening of drinking and technological water due to transformation of the soluble salts of calcium bicarbonates and a magnesium in insoluble compounds. For this purpose create water stream having an average speed from 0.05 up to 0.15 m/s. In parallel to the water stream they install the current-bearing and grounded electrodes of 1.0 to 1.5 m length. The interelectrode distance is taken equal to 0.05-0.07 m. The feeding electrodes are fed with a variable electrical field with voltage from 120 up to 150V and the current frequency from 0.5 up to 1.0 Hz and apply this electric field to the water influence this field water for 10-15 seconds. As a result of it the water soluble salts are transformed into the marginally soluble compounds settling as sediments. If the initial water total hardness is no more than 2 mgeq/l , then the process is conducted in one stage, if the hardness is more than 2 mgeq/l - in some stages. EFFECT: increase of productivity of the method of a water softening at low power costs and exclusion of chemical pollution of the water.
