FIELD: filtering devices.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a gravity filter filtering device for softening and purifying drinking water. The filtering device contains a system for fixing the filtering device in the filter funnel with openings for the inlet of purified water and air outlet, hermetically connected to the filtering element made of a porous block material in the form of a hollow vertical vessel with a porous or hermetically sealed bottom obtained by compressing a mixture of powdered components containing particles of activated carbon and a polymer binder, with a layer of granular material located in the volume of its internal space for softening the water to be purified, a distributor of the treated water flow from a mesh or fabric with holes smaller than the size of the granular material particles. The distributor of the treated water flow is made in the form of a dome-shaped or flat mesh or fabric element and is located in the volume of the filtering device fixation system. A layer of granular material, which reduces the hardness of the water to be purified, fills the entire internal volume of the filter element and part of the volume of the fixation system of the filter device, limited by the flow distributor. Granular material for softening purified water with a granule size of 0.1-2.0 mm is a cationite from the class of weakly acidic synthetic cation-exchange materials or a granular porous block material with a pore size of 10-80 microns, consisting of activated carbon, a polymer binder and a slightly soluble salt, binding the calcium cations contained in drinking water into a slightly soluble calcium salt, or a mixture of cation exchanger and granular porous block material in the ratio cation exchanger: granular porous block material (10-90):( 90-10) wt.%.

EFFECT: increased resource of stable water softening (at least 350 liters) and a similar resource of highly efficient purification from the most common pollutants; improving the quality of drinking water purification in household filters of a pitcher type.
