METHOD TO PRODUCE A GRAFTED COPOLYMER OF POLYCAPROAMIDE Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: chemical industry, production of the fibrous sorbent. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technologies of production of grafted copolymers of polycaproamide for obtaining chemisorption filaments used in the capacity of a fibrous sorbent for clearing of the air-and-gas mixture from gases of sour character. The method provides for a step by step initiation of the polycaproamide filaments by the oxidation-reduction system Cu2+-H2O2. At first the filament peroxidised with the air oxygen is treated with 0.40 - 0.50 % (from mass of filament) copper sulfate aqueous solution at the room temperature, then in 15 minutes in the reaction mass they add 0.20-0.25% (from mass of filament) aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide by portions for 15 minutes and conduct initiation for 25 - 30 minutes, wash out with water, execute treatment with an aqueous solution of methylaminoethylmethakrylate under the temperature of 45- 55 C for 20 - 30 minutes, with consequent wash-down and drying. EFFECT: increase of the static exchange capacity at the expense of increase of the share of grafted copolymer in the modified filament up to 70 %,that results to increase of degree of the sour character gases extraction from air-and-gas mixture and to increase of the ion exchanger operating time to 15 hours (on HC1) and to 30 hours - (on HF) with preservation of good physical and mechanical features of the filaments. 5 ex, 1 tbl
