GEAR CONTROLLING SETTING DEPTH OF PIPES IN WELL Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: oil and gas industry, control over setting depth of pipe string in well in process of oil and gas production, drilling and repair of wells. SUBSTANCE: gear includes weight transmitter connected to system measuring and converting weight on hook to code, transmitter of movement of rotary drill line connected to system converting movement into two trains of pulses " upward " and " downward " with weights equal to unit of less significant position in depth and system of two reversible counters " setting depth " and " drill pipe connection ". For increase of accuracy and reliability gear is supplemented with computer and circuit for input of settings according to weight, speed and acceleration. Outputs of circuit are connected to one group of inputs of computer and second group of its inputs is coupled to outputs of systems converting weight and movement. Outputs of computer are coupled to inputs of reversible counters " setting depth " and " drill pipe connection " which outputs are connected to corresponding indicators.
