FIELD: oil and gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to oil and gas industry and can be used for accurate measurement of submersion depth of working tool fixed on first element of column of long bodies, in particular, tubing string lowered to oil and gas well during underground repair or preventive works. Method includes formation by means of video measurement unit located at some distance from tubing and fixed on platform so that object was in zone of visual inspection, serial series of photographic images of fragments of moving object, separation of contrast relief points on them, determination of displacement value of these points in equal time intervals, reduced measurement error by averaging over the controlled points on the measurement time interval, summation of the measured average displacements at the time interval from the beginning of the object movement to its final stop. In a device for measuring technical parameters of a pipe string, lowered into a well, comprising a cable winch, equipped with a weight meter, on which a tackle block with an elevator is installed for gripping and lifting pipes connected to the column, an external laptop and a radio frequency channel, additionally a video measurement unit, an external indicator with a control panel and an external power supply.

EFFECT: improving measurement accuracy of current depth of working tool immersion and additionally measuring speed and acceleration of pipe string movement during lowering and lifting operations.
